Adding a image to my CD ...
This is my final CD cover that i have chosen to use for my CD, the reason that i chose it is because i felt that it matched the mood of our song, i know that it is really important to make strong links between all of our products which is why i have chosen to use one of the best images that we used in our music video. I think the fact that it is black and white really adds to the mood because it would look wrong if the music video was in black and white, my digipak was in black and white and then the CD cover was in colour, as a group we all wanted to use a black and white effect on all of our products so we will keep to that.

The process of creating my digipak:
I used final cut pro to create the inside and outside of my digipak by using my own images of our solo artist, used with our chosen colour scheme which was black, white and pink. When creating my digipak I mainly focused on the postioning of text and the placing of images as I didn't want my digipak to consit of too many images. I also focused on the blancing of the images and text against the background of the two panels and the cover of the digipak as I didn't want the images/text to based mainly on one side.
I first began creating my digipak by using a template of the digipak cover and the inner 2 panels template for inside. The first thing I began to do was use the magnatic losso tool and and use it to crop around the image of Aaliyah. I then used this image as the frontcover of the digipak to promotte my artist as I thought that this image establshed a new UK female artist. The problem which occured after using the magnetic lasso tool was that because we took the picture of Aaliyah on the green screen and because I decided to contrast it against a black background. As a result to this on photoshop a vague green line appeared around the outline of Aaliyah. Because of this I had to use different tools from final cut pro, used to try and get rid of the green outline. The tools I used was the airbrush and paint tool which i used carefully around the outline of Aaliyah. This slightly adjusted the problem but I found that it appeared to make the shot of Aaliyah not as sharp as before.
I felt that my first attempt of my digipak was a success as it included all of the main features of a digipak, such as album name, artist name, track list, barcode, record label and a image which presents the artist. The only missing thing is the album name and the number placed down the spine. For finishing touches I also plan to play with different font types and colours.
After doing the cover of my digipak I focused on the inside. The inside of my digipak features the album CD and lyrics from the song which we previously did a music video too. I started the inside planels by creating a circle on the right hand side for the album CD. The image which I used for the CD was a pink painted rose. This idea was inspired from Rihannah digipak 'Loud', I decided to use this because I thought that it contrasted well with the image used on the cover of the digipak as the dress which Aaliyah is wearing is filled with pink flowers and roses. To use the rose as the CD I had to use the template of a circle over the image of the rose. and use the magnetic losso tool to crop and create the image of the CD.
The final inner panels consits of lyrics from the bridge of read all about it part 3 on the left hand side and the album CD on the right hand side. The inner panels reflect the chosen colour scheme of black, pink and white.
