You can see from the digipak above from katy perry that she has quite clearly made a album cover for her audience because her genre is pop and she clearly makes links between the album and her music video which is also called teenage dream, the whole theme of this album is candy, she uses it on the artwork and it is also in the music video, she also gave her fans an added incentive by making her album smell like candy as well.
The reason that lady gaga is so famous and so loved all around the world is because she is so different to any other artist so it was really important that the album cover looked quite surreal and different to anyone else's, you can see that the text is really contradict with the backing colours for example you can see that the black text is set over a white background.
With this album you can see that she has really kept the artwork simple to match her voice and her personality because the big selling point with Emile is her voice because she is not the best performer and she will know that which is why she has kept it simple, also the colour scheme that is used really match her voice and her style of music which is important because you can have really bright colour on a album like this because it will just look wrong.
