Do's & Don't When Constructing Digipak Covers & Magazine Adverts
DO:
- DO Use a clear font.
- DO Use appropeiate sizes for images&fonts.
- DO Use clear photos that are in focus.
- DO use a layout that follows the rule of thirds for composition.
- DO use an appropriate type face that follows: Genre conventions & a House Style.
- DO Be careful where you place the font: Must follow genre conventions & Be clear from a distance.
- DO Follow the conventions of the 3 colour rule & use colour that is appropriate for: Images,Font & Background.
- DO Think carefully about how you use and integrate: Font,Text & Language,Image.
- DO Do use appropriate industry logos and conventions, properly positions: Barcode,Date,Copyright,Titles,Artists name.
Don't:
- DON'T stretch images because this will make the out of focus.
- DON'T use layer styles.
- DON'T use unnecessary effects unless it suits the genre.
- DON'T put text accrose the artists face.
- DON'T use a font just because you 'like it'.
- DON'T feel the need to use a seperate phone on every panel.
