Digipak - Do's And Don't

Do's & Don't When Constructing Digipak Covers & Magazine Adverts

DO:

  • DO Use a clear font.
  • DO Use appropeiate sizes for images&fonts.
  • DO Use clear photos that are in focus.
  • DO use a layout that follows the rule of thirds for composition.
  • DO use an appropriate type face that follows: Genre conventions & a House Style.
  • DO Be careful where you place the font: Must follow genre conventions & Be clear from a distance.
  • DO Follow the conventions of the 3 colour rule & use colour that is appropriate for: Images,Font & Background.
  • DO Think carefully about how you use and integrate: Font,Text & Language,Image.
  • DO Do use appropriate industry logos and conventions, properly positions: Barcode,Date,Copyright,Titles,Artists name.

Don't:

  • DON'T stretch images because this will make the out of focus.
  • DON'T use layer styles.
  • DON'T use unnecessary effects unless it suits the genre.
  • DON'T put text accrose the artists face.
  • DON'T use a font just because you 'like it'.
  • DON'T feel the need to use a seperate phone on every panel.
