Over the next coming week we will have to design and create a suitable digipak and advertisement advertising and promoting our artist.
What is a digipak?
A digipak is a modern approach to a CD packaging, with added value as it includes more information about the artist. A digipak encourages us to part money for something more and extra.
What does a digipak look like?
A digipak includes the following:
-Name of artist < large, clear font- most important feature.
-Name of album
-Tracklist
-Promotional stickers < chance to promote or show recent tours or special features
-Product information < copyright, years of production, web adress, record label, logo/name, producer, price.
Inside of our digipak?
- The same visual design kept within the inside of the digipak (font, colour and design)
- Repeat of tracklist.
-Acknowledgements, small font < short list, acknowledgements for particualar tracks on the album e.g who featured or who played the instruments.
It's important that digipak is kept simple and doesnt consits of many colours the max colours should be 4.
What should we include in our avertisement?
- It should echo visual style and colour scheme of the digipak.
- No more than 2 different fonts
- Elements of graphic design- not images from the music video
The digipak and advertisement must create a similar visual link with eachother.
What should the advertisement include?
-Must include realease date.
-Prominent display of artists name and album.
-Usually features an image of the digipak.
-May also include tour dates, review quotes from magazines &newspaper
-May also feature record label logo and website.
