Three technical
strengths of the video:
We thought carefully about where we wanted to
shoot the video because we wanted to make sure that we had good lighting.
The base tracks that we used worked well with
each other, and the performer was lip
syncing in time with the lyrics.
Most of the shots in the video work edited to
transition in time with the music to make a more professional music video.
Three technical
disadvantages of the video:
We didn't really spend any time thinking about
Mise En Scene but if we did take time to bring in props and costumes then it
would of improved the overall quality of our music video.
We didn't use nearly as many edits as we should
have done, but we now know exactly how to put edits on a music video so we can
only learn from our mistakes.
There was not a real variation between shot
types in our video, we only used the basic long shot and close up so when it
comes to the real thing we will improve on that.
Technical skills learnt in my AS year:
Throughout our AS year we were introduced to a number of
skills that we then were able to put to use when it came round to actually
filming out thriller film, all of these skills combined really helped us
improve the quality of our music video.
Continuity editing
Soundtracks
Framing (rule of 3)
Base tracks
Mise En Scene
Camera Work
Sound Effects
Connecting shots together using fades
Experimenting with different shot types and
angles
Evaluating mock music video:
Last summer we were tasked with filming a mock music video from which we learnt a number of skills that we will be able to use when it come round to filming out final music video, overall i feel that the music video went well but it could of been better if we had brought in more props and costumes that would improve the overall professionalism of our piece.
I think when it comes round to filming our final music video we will all be really confident because we know all the skills that we need to make a great music video, we are planning to film about 4 base tracks in our final music video which will be just enough because it is a really slow song and if we add loads of base track then we will probably ruin it.
